Introducing Henry and Phoebe!  These two delightful little dachshunds have come to us due to their owners moving into aged care and we have been entrusted to find a very special home for them.  They are a package deal, two peas in a pod as they have been together since pups and have a very special bond  This is particularly important in this case as Phoebe is deaf and relies on Henry to assist being her ears.

Henry (red mini long):  This little man is just the sweetest boy and is just as dependent on Phoebe as she is on him.  He is a happy boy who loves his daily routine which includes night time snuggles with his special toy he has had since he was a puppy, and then curling up with Phoebe in their crate.  Although Henry is a bit of a couch potato compared to Phoebe, he loves to play with his football and soccer ball and will even pop them away under the bed when he is finished playing.  Henry loves his food and isnt fussy, but he will let you know if dinner isnt on time!

Phoebe (black and tan mini long):  Phoebe is such a darling and has adapted incredibly well to being deaf.  She takes her cues from Henry and her owners have a calm, predictable routine that Phoebe has adjusted to.   She is likely to bewitch you with her sweet little face,  she tends to shadow her owners and watches their faces, maybe hoping for that extra little food treat  or lap cuddle! Phoebe’s little game that she loves to play is to chase shadows.

Both Henry and Phoebe are toilet trained (know how to use a doggy door), are great with well behaved children and have had exposure to cats.  They get along well with other dogs, although they do require a nice slow introduction and can be quite excited and vocal when out in public.    These two will also benefit from somebody who can slowly incorporate an exercise regime including regular walks and outings to stimulate their doggie senses which will also help them lose a little bit of their “puppy fat”.

Henry and Phoebe would best be suited to a home where somebody is present for much of the time, eg work from home or retirees and have a calm regular routine.  They would love to have a backyard for them to explore with little sunny nooks for them to sunbake in.  Their beautiful long coats will need a weekly brush.     If you are looking for the sweetest little pair that will bring you much joy, please fill out an application form.  Sorry, they are not suitable for interstate adoption.
