Roxy is looking for a new home as sadly her current household is very busy and with a new born on it way they have made the heart breaking decision that Roxy may be happier in another home.

The positive attributes:

• Roxy although very timid, has been around children and is friendly, however we feel that she would be best in a home with older children (teenagers)
• Once Roxy trusts you she is quite affectionate and will happily snuggle up for a little belly rub.  Stuffed toys are a prized possession for her however are no match and usually end up in numerous pieces!  Roxy adores finding a little nook in the garden and having a sunbake on her back with her little paws up in the air.
• Roxy is fine to be left on her own for short periods.
• She has been toilet trained.

The challenges:

• Roxy hasnt had a great deal of socialisation, and will need an experienced dog savy owner who can help build her confidence.  She has been living with another male dachshund who was very protective of her.   We think that if she has another doggie companion that dog must be calm and well socialised which will help provide a good example to Roxy.
• Roxy hasnt been tested with cats, however she would be best placed without other small animals.
• Roxy has been sleeping in the garage and has been toilet trained for the garage.  She will need someone to monitor her routine for the first few days during this transition period to inside living.

Her ideal owner would be somone who has plenty of time to help establish a calm routine that includes regular training walks to slowly increase her social skills and engage all her senses.  If you feel that you would be able to offer a great forever home for this little Miss please fill out an application form.
