Rio initially came to DRA a few months ago but his adoption was  withdrawn temporarily.  He came to his current home as an older puppy in an unhealthy condition so rehoming Rio after all he had been through is heartwrenching for his owners but unfortunately, changes within the family have upset Rio and he is not as happy and relaxed as he once was.

It is through no fault of his that Rio finds himself looking for a new home. Toddlers walking around with food gives him the opportunity to take it when he can and given his background this behaviour is understandable.

Rio loves going on walks (except when it is raining!)  and is very well behaved on his lead.  He is not bothered by other dogs or people and keeps to himself.

Rio prefers the company of ladies and would be best suited to go to a mature family (no young kids) where someone will be home with him majority of the day. He would most likely be better in a home where he will be the one and only pet.

Rio is quite an energetic and playful boy and enjoys running around.  He is also a sooky la la who loves cuddles, tummy rubs and being paid lots of attention.  Rio loves to burrow under the blankets on the couch but is also crate trained.

Rio is toilet trained but a little shy when it comes to doing his business and will often wait until he is in his own backyard.  He is up to date with his vaccinations, in good health (although does suffer from skin allergy at times) and desexed.
