Garlic is a beatiful boy who has been let down.  Garlic was rescued after living in terrible circumstances which has left him terrified of humans.

Garlic is not used to being touched or having any interaction with humans.  He will need to continue to take his current medications to help him overcome his nervousness, anxiety and fears.

Garlic will need to go to an adult home where it’s calm and quiet.  His new owners will be prepared to give him the time and space to allow him to become comfortable in his new home.  Another friendly and established dachshund would make a great companion for Garlic and will hopefully help him to become  more confident.

Garlic has made slow progress since he has come in to rescue but needs slow, gradual exposure to human interaction with lots of choice.  Garlic engages in his lickimat, treat/retreat games with his handler sitting nearby.

Please only apply to adopt Garlic if you are able to provide his needs as he needs a stable, adult only home with people who will understand his needs.
