Uma 10years 3 months B&T smooth Mini Dachshund

Introducing Uma, the owners never anticipated that they would be in this position for rehoming.  Uma is extremely loved. Originally purchased for their daughter many moons ago. Now both daughter and Uma have grown up. One in a demanding career the other living with the Grandparents. A large portion of Uma’s life was on the land. Nothing she loves more than fresh air, sun to sun bake a yard to explore and a loving family to spoil her with endless cuddles and belly rubs. Uma is an inside pooch and would enjoy being part of family life.  She is protective of her family and will bark till she gets to know you. She lived on a farm and had dogs as best friends and enjoyed running after the chickens. Nowadays the running has slowed but don’t let fool you she loves to go for walks and is the greatest companion. Looking up at you for guidance with adoring eyes.

Uma is best suited to adults as small children can make her anxious. ( older children ok ) She has not taken to apartment living and the hustle and bustle of city life, traffic noise is scary to her. Not keen to be left on her own. A companion dog for company as a play mate. She has a fun goofy energy, quite comical and very affectionate. Uma responds well to commands, even better if she knows a reward is forthcoming, she will be extra keen to be a good girl. Toilet trained and up to date with her vaccinations. Uma sleeps on a soft comfy bed and fluffy blankets she burrows under.

Her ideal home would be in a house (not apartment) with adult humans home the majority of the day, and ideally with a companion dog. She needs to live inside with her human family but have access to space outside with grass and the ability to lay in the sunshine. She would suit a reasonably active owner as she loves walks, outings in the car, and while happy to lay around during the day she has lovely playful energy.

Uma is located in Sydney. No flights but car travel ok.
