Dear Odee is a beautiful gentle chocolate boy that has only known a very small world. Having spent much of his short  life (three years) devoted to a home-bound owner, Odee formed a deep attachment to that one person and is now learning, step by step, that the world is bigger.

In just three short weeks in foster care, Odin has already shown how beautifully he can adapt, with patience and kindness.

Odee is enjoy the company of other dogs and is learning to trust and bond with more than one human. It’s been a quiet transformation, and one that speaks volumes about the dog he is deep down.

At his core, Odee is every bit dachshund, affectionate, food-motivated, and happiest curled up close to his people. He absolutely loves his walks on quiet beaches and park areas. Odin is a fast learner and is starting to pick up the basics like “sit” and “bed” with growing confidence.

Odee will need a special home, one that understands that progress isn’t always linear.  he will probably take a few steps back when settling into a new environment, just as many sensitive rescue dogs do. Time, consistency, and a committed adopter, is the way he will find his feet again.

Learning to play Odee has built confidence from other dogs, and would benefit from having a calm, friendly companion in the home to keep  him relaxed, show him the way and stop him from shadowing his adopter.

Odee would suit a house hold with more than one adult and no children, adopters home during the day with an understanding that settling a rescue dog takes more than a few days.

Odee has been a pleasure in foster care and is loved dearly, he has proven to be kind, a little cheeky!, super company, great around other dogs.
