Birdie is a stunning long-haired dachshund with the softest smoky eyes that have a way of melting the hearts of everyone he meets. Gentle, affectionate and a little timid when first introduced, Birdie is looking for a patient family who will give him the time, love and reassurance he needs to blossom.

Once he feels safe, Birdie absolutely revels in attention. He adores being fussed over and loves nothing more than being close to his people, making him the perfect companion for someone who is home for much of the day and wants a little shadow by their side.

Birdie would thrive in a home with a secure garden where he can explore, sniff and enjoy the sunshine, along with regular walks to keep both his body and mind happy. His beautiful long coat will also need regular grooming, so he’s hoping to find someone who enjoys spending that extra time caring for him and keeping him looking his very best.

Having always lived with another dachshund, Birdie would love a home with a kind, friendly female dachshund or another gentle small breed to keep him company.
