Calling all black and tan lovers…

Frankie is a striking young boy who has been surrendered because his owners felt that they are unable to give Frankie the undivided attention that he has been seeking.

Positive Attributes:

• Frankie is an incredibly affectionate boy who loves nothing more than smooching up on the couch with his owner or snuggling under the doona on a cold evening.
• Frankie has been toilet trained and will use the doggie door to go outside to do his business.
• Frankie is a bit of a foodie and will devour all his meals with incredible enthusiasm.  His eyes really light up if he thinks his favourite treat, grated cheese, might be on the cards!
• When its playtime, Frankies favourite toys are anything small and fluffy..although we have been told he isnt too keen on squeaky toys.

The Challenges:

• Frankie loves being around his people so much, he holds them probably too close to his little heart and as such is quite protective and territorial of what he considers to be his.  He is reactive to strangers on his territory, and although he is amazing with the children that he has been bought up, he has previously nipped a  strange child that had entered their property and therefore we feel he should only be rehomed to an adult family.
• Frankie suffers from separation anxiety, he will bark and work himself up initially when he knows he is going to be left alone. However he has been monitored on security vision and he will settle down with occasional barking at noises.

The ideal home for Frankie would be an experienced dachshund owner who works from home/semi retired.  Frankie isnt keen on bigger dogs, so we think that Frankie would love a little friend however he is so attached to his humans that he could also be an only dog.  Please note, Frankie is not suited to a busy environment nor would he suit apartment living.  Ideally, if you have a larger block, safely fenced and no close neighbours this might be an ideal  home for Frankie.  Sorry, unfortunately he is not available for interstate adoption.
