Edward is a young pup who is still finding his confidence around new people and children, so his ideal home is a calm, child-free one where he can settle in at his own pace. He would be delighted to share his quieter kingdom with other small dogs or fellow dachshunds—preferably companions who appreciate both playtime and the occasional strategic nap.

Edward—Eddie to his friends—is loving, affectionate, and eager to please. He is in excellent health and sports a beautiful long chocolate coat that makes every day look a little more glamorous.

Eddie is clever, obedient, and already knows sit, stay, come, and leave it. Hair dryers, cars, and vacuum cleaners do not faze him—apparently, household appliances have failed to make his worry list. He has never had an accident in the house, rarely barks, loves chasing balls, and is happiest splashing at the beach. A true little adventurer, he enjoys playing with other dachshunds.

Eddie loves his family deeply and approaches new people with thoughtful caution. Naturally protective and only one year old, he is still learning that the world can be a friendly place. Give him a little space and time to build trust and, once you are in, you are very much in—expect a loyal best friend attached at the hip. Eddie is content at home while his family is at work. He does not cry or bark during the day; instead, this accomplished homebody divides his time between lounging on his bed and conducting important quality-control checks on sunny spots.

Eddie’s dream home would include another small dog or dachshund companion, plus a rear yard or generous outdoor space. He would thrive in a lower-stimulus setting, such as the country or a semi-rural area, where there is room to run, chase balls, swim, and play to his heart’s content. An experienced dachshund household that can continue guiding his development—and enjoy a front-row seat as his confidence blossoms—would be ideal. As Eddie is still a puppy, his best match is a child-free home.

Eddie is a wonderful blend of sensitive and strong, curious and playful, cuddly and calm. Loyal, exceptionally smart, and highly motivated to learn, he has all the ingredients to become an outstanding companion.
