Introducing Basil and Manuel, this inseparable duo complement each other like sun and moon, and their affection for one another is one of the most beautiful bonds we’ve had the privilege to know at Dachshund Rescue Australia.

Basil, a spirited Dachshund, often likes to express his thoughts in a delightful and endearing chatter. If you’re familiar with Dachshunds, you’ll understand that they have a unique way of communicating their mood. As for Manuel, or Mani as he is adoringly nicknamed, his voice may sound like a growl at first but don’t be alarmed; that’s just his distinctive way of chatting with his humans. He will show his disapproval when he sees work boots.

They’ve lived a full life of adventure inside and out in their back yard. At night they sleep in a bespoke crate     handmade by their owner. Walks might not be a priority anymore, but they enjoy quality sniffing time in the sun-soaked backyard, perfectly content to observe their surroundings and to be a part of a family.

Basil and Mani would love to be with a family where they can keep a keen, loving eye on the daily actions in the household, providing constant company in return. Tested with children a bonus. cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs, and believe it or not, chickens! Yes, that’s right, these two are easy-going and quite natural with other domestic pets.

This pair of adorable gentlemen share more than just handsome features. Their spirit of camaraderie brightens up homes, brings warmth to hearts and they want nothing more than to continue sharing that love.
