Meet Bertie  🐾❤️

Bertie comes from a rural property, so he is a country lad at heart. He is a healthy, desexed boy who is incredibly affectionate and deeply loyal to those he trusts. Like many Dachshunds, he takes neighbourhood watch very seriously and is always ready to announce outside noises or passing people. He would be happiest in a peaceful environment with fewer external triggers and a securely fenced backyard where he can feel safe and relaxed. Bertie is not keen on other dogs and considers small animals such as chickens and ducks far too interesting, so he would be best suited to a home without them.

Bertie is seeking a home where someone is home more often than not, as he thrives on human attention and takes his role as loyal sidekick very seriously. He is happy to assist in the backyard with gardening, although his ideas about landscaping may differ from yours. Bertie also loves curling up on the couch with his people, sleeping happily on the bed each night and looking forward to his daily walks. He would thrive in a quiet, calm home with experienced dog owners who understand the Dachshund breed and its big personality in a compact package.

Bertie is looking for a family with the time and patience to provide gentle guidance—and a sense of humour about sharing their home with a very determined little sausage. In return, they will have a wonderful and devoted companion.
