Dougie is a fun-loving, beach-going, paddle-board-dabbling little sausage dog with a heart as big as his ears! At just 2 years old, this cheerful dachshund is bursting with personality and ready to find his forever family.

Dougie is a social butterfly through and through—he loves meeting new people and dogs, and his excitement for life is contagious. Whether he’s out on a walk or down at the beach, you can count on Dougie to be wagging his tail and making friends wherever he goes.

He’s an active little guy who thrives on play and adventure, but he also has a deeply sweet and silly side. One of his favourite quirks? Tucking himself into his sleeping bag when he’s ready for a snooze. He’s a champion napper and knows how to balance fun with rest.

Dougie is good with kids and has plenty of experience playing fetch and tug-of-war with them. He’s playful and affectionate, but like all of us, he appreciates his quiet time too and will let you know when he’s ready for a break.

While Dougie is mostly toilet trained, he does get very excited when guests arrive—and sometimes that excitement results in a little welcome-wee. With consistent training and patience, this is something that can be improved over time.

Dougie’s ideal home would be with a loving, calm family who includes him in their daily lives. He doesn’t cope well with long periods alone and would be happiest in a home where someone is around more often than not.
