Douglas is a Dachshund boy seeking a stable, understanding home where he can feel safe and supported. He gets along with some dogs and has previously lived around a cat with no issues. Douglas would be best suited to a quiet, slow-paced environment with someone who understands the Dachshund breed and can read his cues.

Douglas does experience separation anxiety, so his ideal home would be with someone who works from home or is home the majority of the time. While he has been around children, he is best suited to a household with children over the age of 12.

He can be anxious when first settling into a new home, but once Douglas forms a bond and feels secure, he becomes a loyal and affectionate companion. With patience, consistency, and a loving routine, he truly thrives.

MEDICAL DISCLOSURE   – Douglas underwent IVDD surgery approximately four months ago. He has recovered to around 80% and is pain-free. He is able to walk independently, enjoys going for walks, and happily runs around the house, although he remains a little wobbly. Ongoing care and awareness of his physical limits will be important.

Douglas is looking for an experienced Dachshund home that can offer him stability, reassurance, and companionship. In the right environment, he will reward his new family with deep loyalty and affection.
