Calling all Nth Qld dachie lovers…..

Juno is the sweetest little dachshund (most likely dachshund x) that although she has had a rough start to life, we are determined to find her an amazing home which ticks every single box that will set her up for a life of happiness.  Juno has been much, much loved by her current owner who adopted her, however with an increase in work hours they have recognised that she needs to have a ‘present’ owner and she is also yearning to have a little brother or sister to play with.

Our hearts just broke when we heard Juno’s story.  When Juno was only a young puppy, she was left in a hot car with her mum and litter mates, tragically her mum didnt survive, but her pups did and another rescue stepped in and raised the puppies until they were old enough to be adopted.  Juno is a little fighter and we know that in the right circumstances she will flourish to be a gorgeous little companion.  Regardless of her fears, Juno has never shown any aggression…she just wants to feel safe and loved.

Juno is seeking a quiet calm home with an experienced owner who can take her under their wing and give her the confidence to learn that the outside world isnt that scary.  Juno is still very puppy like, she has lots of energy and is keen to play and try and make friends with other well behaved small dogs…but she does find big dogs intimidating and reacts by barking.  She has been exposed to a cat and generally tries to engage in play.  She loves her outdoor adventures and car rides…and generally walks well on the lead.  Dog parks and cafes are probably not ideal places for Juno, we think she may find them a little overwhelming.  Juno loves playing with her soft squeaky toys and enjoys the luxury of the human bed at night time, she loves her people and needs to be close.  She is easily motivated by food, with her favourtie treats roast chicken or kangaroo jerky.  Juno is also toilet trained and knows how to use a doggie door.

Juno is not happy about being left alone, and its essential that her new home have somebody present for a good part of the day.  She doesnt tend to bark when left alone, but can become destructive.  We would especially love for her to have that special little doggy buddy that is confident and nice natured so that her life can be filled with play time and the security of having another dog to look up to.  Juno suffers from a mild grass allergy and sometimes needs medication to help settle down a flare up.
