Meet Shadow – A Young Dachshund Looking for a Fresh Start💙 

At just 14 months old, Shadow is a handsome young dachshund with so much potential. Due to his family’s ongoing commitments, he has unfortunately missed out on some of the important training, socialisation and guidance that young dogs need during their early months. As the family has grown with the arrival of a newborn baby, Shadow has also shown that he is no longer comfortable living in that environment.

Shadow is now looking for an experienced dachshund owner who understands the breed and is committed to helping him become the wonderful companion he has every ability to be.

He will thrive in a calm, structured home where clear boundaries, consistency and positive reinforcement are part of everyday life. Shadow will need continued training, including learning to walk politely on the lead, developing good manners around the home, and building his confidence through positive experiences. With patience and guidance, he is expected to make excellent progress.

Like many dachshunds who have lacked early socialisation, Shadow also needs to feel safe and secure. A family willing to invest time in building his trust and confidence will be rewarded with a loyal and devoted companion.

Shadow is currently living with another dachshund, showing he can live with another well-balanced dog. However, as he has had limited socialisation, any introductions would need to be gradual, carefully managed and set up for success. Shadow would be best in a home without children.

Shadow isn’t looking for a perfect home—he’s looking for the right one. Someone who can see past his lack of experience, provide the leadership and stability he needs, and enjoy watching him grow into the fantastic dachshund he is capable of becoming. With commitment, patience and understanding, Shadow has a bright future ahead of him.
