We were absolutely thrilled to receive the call that we had been chosen to adopt Stevie. While we were excited to welcome her into our family, we were also a little nervous about how our other miniature dachshund, Mervyn, would react.
Thankfully, our worries were short-lived. From the very beginning, Stevie and Mervyn have been inseparable. They adore each other and have quickly become the best of friends and wonderful companions.
Although we’ve only had Stevie for a few short weeks, she has settled into our family routine so effortlessly that it feels as though she has always been here. She is a curious little girl who loves her daily walks and exploring the world around her. When she’s not busy playing with her toys or playing chase with Mervyn, you’ll usually find her curled up under a blanket enjoying a well-earned snooze.
Stevie has brought so much joy, love and laughter into our home. She truly is the missing piece of our family puzzle that we didn’t even realise was missing, and we love her to bits.
The adoption process was incredibly easy and staff have been extremely supportive and helpful with any questions we have had. Thank you for trusting us with this sweet girl.
Penny – 5 Years old – Brisbane

Thanks for checking in. Penny is doing so well!! Her & Shala have become great buddies & play a lot. Her cheeky personality has really blossomed & she's just delightful.
We had a bit of a scare on Saturday while we were in & out of the house for soccer, as Penny got out! Thankfully she didn't actually leave the front yard & our neighbours took her in until we got home. We found the hole in the fence that she must have squeezed through & fixed it up right away. Apparently, Shala wouldn't stop crying & barking while Penny was on the other side of the fence from her, which is what got my neighbours outside & they saw Penny sitting there. I also got new tags made with my number on them the next morning for Penny's collar.

Alfie – 6years
Alfie is doing well and is a lot more comfortable now. Mum and dad have seen him starting to show more of his personality and it's very sweet. It shows how shy he was when they first took him home.
