Mocha hadnt had a great start to life, with already having had several homes before her guardian angel from another rescue contacted us to see if we could help with a new home for her. We had just the family in mind for Mocha, and at the meet and greet we could all tell it was just meant to be. On the way to her new home, she was already snuggling up to her bigger brother Ernie, who couldnt believe his luck that he now had a younger sister. Its worked out better than we expected and Miss Mocha has definitely found her forever home and her happy ever after. Thankyou for choosing to adopt a rescue dachshund!

Gertie is a dear little dachshund with a sweet desposition. Although she has always been an anxious girl she is very smart. On arrival at her new home she soon had her adoptive family organised just the way she wanted. Her beautiful personality and her loving nature brings a lot of joy to her new mum. Gertie loves to play with gusto and although she is a little sensitive to loud noises, she is enjoying her walks and going to the beach. It's fair to say that Gertie has brought a lot of pleasure to her family and everyone is very happy with her.

Hank was surrendered to us with 3 other dogs as his owner was too ill to care for him so we needed to find a home that he could share with another dog and owners who would be give him the love and attention he deserved. It was a very emotional day when the owners' son picked Hank up after long drive, with many tears shed during the meet and greet. Once home he soon settled into his new home and was taken for his first big walk on the property. The other 2 resident dogs are showing him the ropes and he is learning new adventures and wonderful new smells.

We visited the Dachshund Australia Website and saw lovely little Lulu. After reading her profile we thought she was a great fit for us so we made an application. A meet and greet was arranged with the current owners with our two dogs to see if they would be a good match. After a few minutes Lulu and our dogs got on well so we decided to go ahead with a two week trial. Lulu has settled in wonderfully during the two week trial. She has settled into our routines and has shown more of her personality every day. She loves our daily walks and playing fetch and sleep on the lounge with our other two (Aussie bulldog and mini foxie). Lulu has become a much loved addition to our family. The adoption process was also really easy and DRA member Diane was very helpful along the whole process. We are so happy with how the whole process went and love Lulu to bits.

Bella was surrendered with 3 other dachsies as her Mum was not well enough to care for them. Her first trial was not successful as she suffered from separation anxiety but along came Amanda and her family who were prepared to give Bella a trial .She soon settled in and has endeared herself to the whole family including Maisy and Jack their much loved dachsies. Her Mum writes. "While we pretty much knew that Bella fitted right in with our family within a few hours of getting home, we wanted to make sure she would be happy here before locking it in. I’m very happy to say Bella has endeared herself to the whole family, and we would very much like to make the adoption permanent."

Roxy came to us with 3 other dogs who needed rehoming as their owner was too sick to care for them, so we ideally needed to find a home with an owner who had another dachsie and would be around to give her lots of attention and belly scratches. We found a wonderful family who were around most of the time to give her the attention she craved and of course another female dachsie to keep her company. I am sure she is getting lots of attention and tummy rubs in her new home.

Slinky, a lovable dachshund, has found his forever home! After being adopted, he’s now the centre of attention, completely doted on by his new family. With a whole acre to run and play, Slinky enjoys his newfound freedom every day. He has plenty of company, ensuring he’s never lonely. His new home is filled with everything he needs and more, from cozy spots to nap to endless toys to play with. Slinky’s life is now full of joy and adventure, surrounded by a family who adores him. This little dachshund has truly found his perfect match!

Dudley is a joy to have around, and we are just loving being able to continue his best life. Although a bit nervous around other dogs and people that he doesn’t know, and being in a new home, he is fast learning to be the centre of everyone’s world. He is enjoying long walks along the river and down to the beach and lazy café stops with his two new neighbourhood canine mates, Sunni and Charlie. He is a fierce protector of the garden and likes to help in the veggie patch. And he could play fetch the ball FOREVER! Dudley and his feline sister, Lucy, are tolerating each other and we now feel that our family is complete.

Snoopy, the dachshund, has found his forever home with a beautiful, loving family dedicated to providing all the affection and training he needs. No longer a country boy, Snoopy now enjoys weekends at the beach, soaking up the sun and playing in the sand with his devoted new family. His days are filled with joy, adventure, and the comfort of a caring home. This commitment ensures Snoopy will thrive, enjoying a happy, fulfilling life surrounded by love and new experiences. His transformation from a rural pup to a cherished family member marks the beginning of a wonderful new chapter.
