Rosie's owner was working extremely long hours, Rosie was a very lonely sausage. She was bereft even entertaining the idea if rehoming her baby girl. After time reflecting on Rosie's needs, the decision was made to find her company. Fortunately DRA has some wonderful families committed to adopting their new family members. Audrey and family spoke with Rosies owner and we were all in consonance the home would be jam packed with fun for Rosie. A road trip to Melbourne

Miss Maggie was adopted into a home in the country where she now spends her days sniffing and watching all the different wildlife that comes with country living. She now has two dachshund brothers that she occasionally decides to have a bit of a play with, but she has particularly bonded with her new mum Kylie who keeps her beautiful long coast brushed and free of prickles. We are so stoked that Maggie will be able to spend the rest of her days in a calm loving environment, thank you for choosing to adopt!

It was love at first sight when Kelsey and her family met Zola for the first time......but what surprised them the most was how quickly their little dachshund Bas bonded with Zola! These two are now joined at the hip, and spend their days living the life that every dachshund should. They play non stop with eachother, and when they are stopping for snooze breaks they sleep face to face in their basket! As Kelsey said, we cant even imagine life without Zola now, its like she has been with us forever. Thank you to Zola's new family for choosing a rescue dachshund!

Sabi now affectionately named Oliver, Ollie for short. Has found a beautiful caring adopter that will spend all her time providing all safe loving home. When we received a phone call from one of Jan's adult children it was evident that the network support around Jan would be more than enough to give Ollie all the attention he needs. He has a gentle nature and is well suited for Jan's lifestyle. They are both smitten with each other. Ollie loves his toys and makes it his mission to get the squeaky part out and present it proudly. We can already tell he has captured all his new families' hearts. Especially Jan's. D.R.A are grateful to witness this beautiful partnership.

Hi everyone, Just a bit about Jack; Since his adoption, Jack has seamlessly blended into our home, quickly establishing a sense of belonging. His playful nature with our other dachshund, Hank, has already formed an adorable companionship that extends from playtime to shared snuggles. Jack is a very cuddly boy, always wanting to be near us. He is he a joy to have around and is already a cherished member of our family, bringing warmth and happiness to each moment. Thank you so much for introducing him to us 🩵🐾

Barry is a little bundle of cuteness and energy! Barry (now known as Peanut) is living on a semi rural property with plenty of room to explore. Peanut has new friendly dachshunds siblings to keep him company and play with. Thank you to his new owners for coming forward to adopt this little munchkin. We hope he continues to bring you lots of happiness.

Muriel came into DRA looking for a home where she would have companionship during the day. Muriel has happily settled into her new home where she has just about taken over the household. She has two new dachshund brothers to boss around and her new owners are kept busy ensuring this little girl is content. Muriel has always been scared of men but is coming around to her new human dad. She allows him to put her harness on for her daily walks which she adores, but then can be caught glaring at him at other times! Lucky for Muriel that he adores his new little princess.

At first Harry was shy and timid in his new home, but after a couple of days he came out of his shell and his personality started to shine. He is a happy and energetic little boy who loves jumping around the garden like a jack rabbit in the grass. Harry is a big stickybeak and needs to know what's going on at all times. Harry sleeps in his owners beds, snores like a trouper and likes to spread himself out as wide as he can be. It's true to say that Harry has stolen his new owners hearts.

Mickey is a delightful little boy who is adored by everyone in his new family. He is now living on a farm with another 3 furry siblings to keep him company and play with. Mickey has mastered the art of the doggie door and happily takes himself in and out as he pleases and has only ever had one accident in the house. Such a clever boy! Mickey has become best friends with the biggest and tallest dog in the home and the pair are as thick as thieves. One of Mickey's favourite activities of the day is to patrol his new property and bark at the cows.
