Bronson, a charming 8.5-year-old boy was seeking a loving home due to his present owners change in living arrangements. Along came Angie who had recently rescued Alonso (Fuzzy)as a friend for her other dachsie. Angie's Mum had recently retired and was lonely at home and kept trying to convince her to give up one of her dogs. As Angie was not keen to let her Mum take one of her dogs, she told her to adopt her own. The rest is history, with Bronson now enjoying his life pottering outside in a lovely garden or snuggled on the couch with his new Mum, who takes him for gentle walks around her neighbourhood, and yes, Angie is now happy because her two fur babies are safe from being snatched by their grandma.

Jeff was suffering from anxiety after losing his best mate earlier this year. He was taking out his anxiety on the older dog in the house, so his parents had to reluctantly rehome him, where he could be the spoilt only dog. His new owners write. "We rescued our very sweet boy two weeks ago and he has adapted very well, sleeps in our bed every night and is eating very well. Jeff is a class A snuggle bunny who has a very affectionate personality with lots of energy. We are very pleased to have been chosen to be his new family, we all love him dearly."

Charlie found his way to DRA, at 4 months of age his owner had an accident and was unable to walk him. Knowing Charlie needed to be socialised, he needed to be exposed to the big wide world. Charlie has settled in wonderfully with ease in his new home. His big sister Ivy was there to show him the ropes. Non stop playing and zoomies in the backyard. Charlie has some older children to keep him entertained. His former owner is delighted to see her boy so happy and content. He is getting the daily enrichment all dachshunds need.Charlie is going to be attending doggy daycare once a week. He will meet Ivy's playmates there and socialise with other fur friends. Charlie has a lovely temperament It's a delight to see him thrive in his new home. DRA are very grateful for new adopters putting in the time and care to welcome these little dogs in need. Beautiful Buddy, found his way to DRA, at 5 months of age his owner had an accident and was unable to walk him. We were thrilled Buddy now has a great home on a farm. A big brother Rocky and friendly alpacas to keep him on his toes.Even the resident cat got to welcome him. Buddy has gone to an idyllic spot in the country. The boys do their nightly zoomies after dinner, Rocky is loving having a baby brother to play with. Buddy is an affectionate boy and loves snuggles under the blanket on the couch. His former owner is elated to see Buddy thriving in his new home. Buddy has a bright future, we are very grateful for owners adopting these gorgeous souls. We look forward to updates on this gorgeous boy.

Basil was adopted by family who already had a little female dachie called Hildie and decided that she would love a little playmate. Basil fitted the bill and now Hildie and Basil have become an inseperable pair that play up a storm together. Basil also LOVES his new backyard, which has plenty of garden and bushes for him to explore and with Hildie by his side he loves to go on walks exploring the neighborhood. We had a applied for a couple dachshunds, had a meet and greet with one. Those just weren’t meant to be. I got a phone call about sweet little Peaches, and it was all systems go and I picked her up the next day. The process of adopting Peaches from start to finish was fantastic. The volunteers care so much about each and every dachshund. They are empathetic to the people rehoming and the families wanting to adopt a new dachshund. Peaches had previously had some separation anxiety and were willing to do what needed to be done to help her settle in with us. She has no issues at home alone now. She’s got a bestie at home with her (our 8yo Rottweiler) our rotti was starting to slow down and Peaches has put the spring back in her step. The communication with the DRA volunteers is fantastic, it was a great process. They are on top of everything and communicate effectively. Peaches loves to be involved with everything we are doing. If it’s a trip the farm or going down the slip and slide with the kids. She’s perfect little addition to our family after losing our last dachshund in early 2023. Thank you so much DRA! for finding us our Princess Peaches. All of us here at D.R.A are thrilled for this little family. Peaches is one lucky little pooch.

I couldn't recommend D.R.A enough! From the first contact, I knew I had found an organization I could trust and two Dachshunds to love forever. The transition from enquiry to being a new Dachie mum of two was seamless! I cannot thank D.R.A enough for bringing Dex and Milly into my life. They have settled into their new home and love their morning and afternoon walks. Weekend adventures and almost endless play time and of course loads of cuddle time. Thank you love Dex, Milly, Saphire, Cass and Leia
