Cleo, the adorable dachshund, has found her dream home and become a true daddy’s girl. In her new home, she enjoys one-on-one time with her devoted owner, relishing in the endless affection and attention. My successfully re-homed story is coming very soon

Otto needed to be rehomed as he wasn't getting on well with his dachsie brother. He was used to a home with 3 other dogs and a family so we wanted to find a new forever home with another dog that he would get on well with. Along came his new owner who had a teenage son and a Bassett Hound. The owner had a dachsie who had recently passed away so they were willing to meet and greet Otto . They took hm home on trial where he slept through the night . His new owners think he is just amazing.

Due to a change in living circumstances Clyde found himself looking for a new home. He was soon adopted by his new owner who fell in love with him as soon as she brought him home . She said he was such a sweetie and adjusted well into his new environment from day one . It was an exhausting day for him but after having some food and drink he soon settled down for a cuddle and a big sleep. A handsome boy who found his forever home with a caring new owner.

Winston has a wife! Winston did not know that was missing from his life was his new wife Minnie. Minnie joined our family a few weeks ago and has brought our family and her new husband so much joy. Minnie loves nothing more than giving kisses to anyone in the house that will accept them and has managed to dust off all the toys that Winston has stopped playing with and keeps Winston on his toes by stealing them when he isn’t looking. The dynamics between the new couple are beautiful and after some initial kisses when they met, they now have settled into married life by spooning on the couch, or the chair or in a bed. Minnie is the perfect addition to our family and we love her to bits. Thank you DRA for helping us add to our family and Winston says thanks for the wife ☺️Such a beautiful family we are all overjoyed for you all.

Moto was living up in Far North Queensland and sadly we had trouble finding a suitable home for him up there. We decided to fly him down to an adopter who was looking for a beautiful well natured dachshund as a companion for their female dachshund. Moto took the flight in his calm, confident manner and hasnt looked back since being picked up from the airport. His new owner sent us the following update. "Moto bounded into our life 2 weeks ago and we can imagine life without him! We have never had a rescue before, and wanted a friend for our older dachie Ruby. They are getting along so well as they both share a love of cuddles, toys and naps! Moto is the sweetest boy with big seal eyes and a wiggle-butt. Thank you Dachshund Rescue Australia - we love him!

Poor Frankie (was Winston) has a sad tale to tell, he was found lost and wondering all alone and his owners never came forward to pick him up. He was extremely fearful of men and we were fortunate enough that a lovely lady stepped forward who had not long lost her previous dog who lived to be 17yrs old. She is committed to working on his reactivity and increasing his socialisation with nice long walks around the suburbs of Canberra and he also loves playing with his soccer ball in the back yard. Jenelle says that he is really a big sook and takes himself to bed each night with his toy bunny. Frankie has now been given another chance to start to trust humans again, and work on his fears whilst being in a loving home. Thanks Jenelle for choosing to adopt a rescue dachshund!

This is Ivar's story through the eyes of his new owner Marie. Once a sweet boy, he came to me burdened with issues and reliant on medication. Despite originating from a beautiful home with caring owners, the bustling environment overwhelmed him as the family expanded. With each pitter patter of little feet his anxiety escalated altering his natural behaviour. Determined to help him reclaim his joy. I am on a journey of patience and understanding. Through consistent care and attention coupled with gradual exposure to new experiences he began to thrive. Today I’m thrilled to share that he is no longer on medication. His transformation is evident of his interaction with other animals and visitors to our home shedding the need for a muzzle. Everyday with him is a testament to resilience and the power of love, as we navigate life together. He is not just a pet but a cherished companion and I’m grateful to have all the time in the world to dedicate to him. We embrace each beautiful day with open hearts and endless possibilities.
