"Freddie Mercury has been such an excellent addition to our family. Freddie’s birth parents had done such an amazing job training and loving him we have been very lucky to benefit from all their love and hard work. Freddie has adapted so well into our family, and he is loved by all who meet him. Freddie is so affectionate and easy going. He has bonded well with our 10 year old bichon keeping him young. Everyone is always telling us how handsome and well natured he is. Freddie loves walks and socialising with other dogs, he is an excellent guard dog alerting us of anything going on around the house. One of Freddie’s best tricks is ringing his bell at the front door when he wants to go for an outing! Our family loves you, Freddie Mercury! (Freddie is currently asleep at my feet at the end of our bed)."

Louie, a sweet and gentle Dachshund, faced a temporary stay in foster care during a challenging time. Penny and Benji have landed on all eight of their gorgeous little paws in their new home. These two adorable and extremely bonded dachshunds continue to live their best lives. Penny being the more dominant of the two is still little Miss Bossy Boots who likes to bark at visitors and Benji is a beautiful and loving little boy who somehow can manage to enjoy a nap in almost every position he finds himself in. It is without a doubt that Penny and Benji will continue to create many happy memories with their new family.

Adopter Alex has welcomed Reign. She is a playful girl full of energy. Reign has done well with the resident dachshund, they are both learning to share. Her former owners are thankful to see Reign thriving and relaxed in new surroundings. Dogs often never look back if there former home has had its conflict with other animals. We are very grateful people coming to DRA to welcome these treasures.

Chorizo came to DRA after becoming a little too big for his paws, squabbling with his older brother Rupert when vying for attention. He is now happily settled into his new home where he is the one and only pet and he is thoroughly enjoying being the centre of everyone's attention. Chorizo is the recipiant of plenty of play time, lap time, cuddles and kisses so he is indeed a very happy boy!

Luna needed to be rehomed as she didn't see eye to eye with her fur sister. She found a new perfect home where she is the centre of attention. Her new Mum writes. "When we saw Luna on DRA we knew she was the only dog for our family. She fit right in as the missing puzzle piece. Beds in every room, she lives in luxury. She was such a good girl on her first camping trip, she will travel with us to many new places. Our sweet girl just wants to be wherever we are and listens to whatever we need her to do. Everyone deserves a dog that is "The Dog" and Luna is that dog for us ."
