Miss Daisy came to rescue as an emergency and went into foster care. This very active girl has had some wonderful people help her along the way. Teaching her manners and how to be social with other dogs. Not much is known of her previous homes she appeared to be a handful and the merry go round began. Having a bouncy puppy with little time isn't conducive to a content dog. DRA has had Daisy, de-sexed and vaccinated. We are thrilled she found her forever home down by the beach. An animal loving family has welcomed Daisy into their home. Wyatt their gorgeous basset now has a little sister. Daisy can still be a chatterbox out walking, her owners have been incredibly patient and consistent with her. Daisy has a bright outlook finding her family. As a young girl Daisy has come a long way, it's very rewarding seeing dogs blossom when they are settled.

After adopting Dougie, he quickly settled in and was shown the household routines by his new dachshund brother Eddie. They quickly bonded and started sharing a bed from night one. They love to play and run around together, then lay outside in the sun. Dougie also enjoys snuggles on the couch with his new family, daily walks and adventures in the car. Dougie is a beautiful soul and we are so happy he joined our family. Thanks to the staff of DRA, the adoption process went smoothly and we are very grateful for their support.

Pickles came to DRA suffering from an unsual and relatively uncommon condition called Idiopathic Paniculitis, onset after a possible possum/fox bite that became infected. Helen and Julie kindly opened their hearts and homes to Pickles, and working with DRA he started seeing specialist vets to manage his condition. However he took a severe turn for the worse, and ended up spending 5 nights in the emergency hospital. With amazing specialist help and lots of positive vibes and prayers, he pulled through and is now on the path to recovery. Pickles is now enjoying living a life of luxury with his brother Rolly, and spend weekends away at their beach house. Thank you for choosing to adopt!

Handsome Hans, was only one when he was adopted into The Reynolds home after a change in his living circumstances. He was welcomed at the beginning of 2024 by Paul, Loryn, Ruby, Poppy and May. When Hans arrived, he was greeted, by his soon to become dachshund brother, Caramel. The two are now best friends and enjoy spending their days playing, sunbaking on our deck, running up and down the beach and just enjoying each other's company on walks and adventures. Caramel is always showing Hans (the correct way) to do things, which builds his confidence more and more every day. With the guidance of Caramel, he has learnt many new tricks and improved behaviour. He sits and waits at the door until he is welcomed in to sit on his mat where he will watch to get lots of pats and love. Or when he sits down and barks on demand for his favourite dog ice blocks that we regularly make. Hans is a very good boy that not only we adore, he quickly wins the hearts of our friends, neighbours and others on walk.

Basil arrived at his new home just in time to celebrate the arrival of 2024 with his brand new family. He is a beautiful dachshund who now has a gorgeous new Jackhound big brother called Fergy to play with. The two boys are practically joined at the hip and are never far from one another. Basil enjoys going on walks, exploring the garden and snuggling next to Fergy. Basil has also been learning tricks and his owners are also teaching him how to play fetch. Many thanks to his amazing new owners for collecting Basil and giving him such a great new life.

Little Bean was an urgent surrender from a breeder. Fortunately we had a very experienced dachshund owner local to the area. Kirsty met up with her darling Freya who took him under her wing. Well Kirsty is a foster fail! Lucky bean renamed "Siebrand" has a big brother Maximus sister Freya and Honeypuss the cat. He is one lucky boy. He went to puppy school to learn some manners. It's a delight to see this little chap in such a good place.

Charlie is loving daily walkies with Millie, they walk perfectly together on the lead side by side each morning. Charlie loves the garden and gallops around chasing skinks. He’s a super big sook, He sits between my husband and I on the lounge each night and gets pats and cuddles from both sides. Both Charlie and Millie have been good together and there have been no arguments, he follows her around the garden. He has a really beautiful nature with us and also Millie.

Best pals Lucy and Archie's mum was working really long hours. Feeling they needed more time and company they came to DRA. This delightful pair have been welcomed onto the farm in rural nsw. A piece of heaven and a big sister Daisy to show them the ropes. Constant play in the back garden running through the doggie door. They never missed a beat in their new home. Their former owner is elated to see them thriving! They have so much room to explore and humans home to keep them company, win, win.

Wally, the Dachshund, found his happily-ever-after with a loving family who showers him with attention. In his new home, Wally enjoys the company of a chatty parrot and bonds with his Dachshund sibling. With patience and training, Wally smoothly adapts to his surroundings, relishing a life filled with companionship and joy. His journey from rehoming to a harmonious family dynamic is a heartwarming tale of second chances and newfound happiness.
